Valderrama, which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup is only 15 minutes away. La Duquesa Golf, Country Club & Spa is only a 5 min walk. La Duquesa Golf Course is a typical Trent Jones layout, demanding concentration and straight driving.
The course winds around El Hacho Beacon Hill overlooking the Mediterranean to Africa. At the wonderful 17th hole, just 129m tee to green, but 30m straight down, you should beware of the wind, especially if the Poniente is blowing from the west. Details: 18 holes Par 70. Ronda is only an hour away by car and is one of the most distinctive and beautiful towns in Spain. It is split in two by the El Tajo gorge. The bullring is the oldest in Spain and worth a visit. Gibraltar is only 25 mins away, don't forget your passport to cross the border. A cable car runs to the top of the rock, where you can meet the Barbary Apes.
